Brunei to Hold Halal Exhibition

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Brunei Halal Showcase 2017 (BruHAS 2017) will be taking place over three days from August 23-25 at the Conference Hall, BRIDEX in Jerudong.

The event will be co-organized by the Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO) and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).

The event consists of four key activities: The Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services Expo (EKSPPHAT), the 2nd International Seminar on Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services (SAPPHAT II), BruHAS Dialogue on Halal Certificate and Halal Label Order (Amended) 2017 and Halal Logistics, and Halal Clinic.

The expo, EKSPPHAT will see the participation of more than 50 MSMEs and Halal industry players. The exhibition will comprise local and Brunei-based international companies from the food industry, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, travel and tour agencies, household products and Halal service providers.

The SAPPHAT II seminar will be held from August 23-24, and will feature a series of talks by international keynote speakers and presenters as well as a forum entitled ‘Memperkasakan Industri Halalan Thayyiban Asas Pembentukan Baldatun Thayyibatun Wa Rabbun Ghafur’, which, according to the press release, translates to empower the Halalan Thayyiban (connotes something that is wholesome, good, healthy and with quality) industry as a basic foundation in shaping a ‘peaceful and prosperous nation that is blessed by Allah the Almighty’.

The seminar is only open to registered participants.

Meanwhile, the BruHAS Dialogue on Halal Certificate and Halal Label Order (Amended) 2017 and Halal Logistics will take place in the morning of August 25, with the BruHAS Halal Clinic being held in the afternoon on the same day.

The Halal Food Control Division of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA), UNISSA and the Halal Science and Metrology Centre of the Ministry of Health (MoH) will be present at the BruHAS Halal Clinic.
