Contest Planned for Selecting Iran’s Representatives in Int’l Quran Competition for Visually-Impaired

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Tehran will host a contest next Wednesday, February 21, to select a Qari and a Quran memorizer to represent Iran in the upcoming international Quran competition for the visually-impaired.

Top visually-impaired Quran reciters and memorizers from across the country will take part in the event, scheduled to be held at the Welfare Organization.

The panel of judges, comprising a number of senior Quran experts, including Ali Akbar Hanifi, Abbas Emam Jome, Hassan Rabeian, Saeed Rahmani and Mehdi Abbasi will assess the participants’ qualifications.

Master Habib Mahkam will head the panel of judges.

The 3rd edition of the international Quran competition for the visually-impaired is slated to be organized in Tehran in April along with several other international Quranic event, including the 35th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition.

Memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran are the categories of the Quranic contest for the visually-impaired.
