Brunei Nat’l Quran Competition: Semifinal Stage Begins

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first of the two-day National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults Hijrah 1442 semi-final in Brunei began at the Melor Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Tuesday.

 

A total of 23 participants competed on the first day. In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, the semi-final was broadcast live through MoRA’s official Instagram at @kheu.brunei by Secretariat of the competition this year.

The remaining 18 participants will compete Wednesday from 8am to noon, and 1.30pm to 4pm.

The winners in the semi-final will be announced tomorrow at the Multaqa Hall of MoRA. It is hoped that the musabaqah can help further develop more experts in the field of Al-Quran reading and to see Al-Quran literate among the community as a platform to strengthen ties to Allah the Almighty.

It also aims to encourage Qari and Qariah to improve their reading of Al-Quran and to gain public interest in learning the proper techniques of Al-Quran reading.

The two-day semifinal is part of MoRA’s annual project.
