Old Copy of Quran Restored in Uzbekistan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – An old manuscript copy of the Holy Quran was restored in Uzbekistan.
Experts with the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan did the restoration with the help of two experts from the Louvre Museum, Azertag webste reported.
The copy, known as Quran Katta Langar, is said to be one of the oldest and most unique manuscripts of the Quran that have survived to this day.
It dates back to the 8th century AD, according to experts.
It was previously kept at a mosque in Kamashi District, the Central Asian country’s Qashqadaryo Region.
The restoration work was done in three stages in November 2019, February 2020 and May 2021.
