Oman’s 30th Sultan Qaboos Quran Competition: Winners Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The winners of the 30th edition of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition were introduced on Monday.

The Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science (SQHCCS) announced the names.

The total number of contestants in the competition stood at 2,881.

In a press release, Habeeb Mohammed Al Riami, Head of SQHCCS said that the initial qualifiers, held in 25 centers across Oman’s governorates, saw strong competition.

The first level—the category of fully memorizing the Holy Quran—was won by Faisal Mohammed Al Balushi from the center of Sohar.

The second level—the category of memorizing 24 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran—was won by Mohammed Said Al Ghamari from the center of Quraiyat.

The third level—the category of memorizing 18 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran—was won by Hajir Saleh Al Kindi from the center of Nizwa.

The fourth level—the category of memorizing 12 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran—was won by Ahmed Saif Al Muqaimi from the center of Al Khuwair.

The fifth level—the category of memorizing 6 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran—was won by Sarah Yousef Al Muhrizi from the center of Ibra.

The sixth level—the category of memorizing 4 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran—was won by Tasneem Salim Al Shibli from the center of Ibra.

The seventh level—the category of memorizing 2 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran—was won by Suhaib Hilal Al Siabi from the center of Ibra.

The Quranic event is annually organized in the Persian Gulf Arab country by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science at the Diwan of Royal Court.

Among the most important objectives of the competition are urging Omanis to memorize and assimilate the Quran, raising a Quranic generation, finding glorified reciters of the Quran who are perfect for its performance and strengthening the Sultanate’s presence in international Quranic competitions.
