Qaris from 5 Countries to Attend Quranic Circle at Imam Reza Holy Shrine

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international Quran recitation circle is planned to be held at the holy mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, northeast Iran, an official said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mohammad Zolfaqari, director of the non-Iranian pilgrims’ affairs department of the Astan Quds Razavi, the custodianship of the holy shrine, told IQNA that qaris from Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Lebanon, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Pakistan will take part in the Quranic circle.

Titled Jala al-Qulub (burnishing of hearts), it is slated to be held on Wednesday evening after the Maghrib and Isha prayers, he said.

The holy shrine’s Rawaq (hall) of Ghadir will host the international Quranic event, according to the official.

The Quranic circle will come on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, which is likely to begin on Thursday, March 23.

Various Quranic programs are planned to be held in Mashhad during the holy month of Ramadan, including several Quran exhibitions.

Meanwhile, millions of pilgrims from around Iran and other countries have been arriving in the holy city over the past days to visit the mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS) during the Nowruz holidays, which mark the beginning of the Iranian New Year.
