A senior Lebanese political analyst described this year's International Quds Day rallies as more important than those held in previous years.

Speaking to IQNA, Talal Atrissi underlined the need for more massive Muslim participation in the rallies this year given the Zionist regime's deadly offensive against Gaza.
"This year's International Quds Day should be different from previous years as Gaza in in different conditions".
At least 642 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,000 others injured since Israel unleashed its offensive on the coastal sliver on July 8.
This comes as the Gaza Strip has been under the Zionist regime's all-out land, aerial and naval blockade since June 2007.
Atrissi said what is happening in Gaza is a reminder of the fact that the oppressed Palestinian nation are under constant aggression.
He predicted that the Quds Day rallies will be attended by more Muslims around the world this year, adding that Muslims' massive turnout in the demonstrations against the Zionist regime will confirm their vigilance and awareness about the issue of Palestine.
The Lebanese political expert said it will also uplift the spirit of Palestinian resistance fighters by ensuring that the Palestinian nation is not also but has the support of the entire Muslim Ummah.
He further reiterated the importance of the Quds Day rallies and said, "As you know, there have been attempts by the enemy in the past years to foment discord among Muslims so that the issue of Palestine and the fact the Zionist regime is the number one enemy of Muslims is forgotten. (But), the Quds Day reminds everyone that Israeli is the main enemy of the Islamic world."
He also called on the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to invite Muslims to take part in the Quds Day rallies.
In August 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini (RA) declared the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day, calling on Muslims across the world to mark the annual occasion by holding street rallies.
This year's International Quds Day falls on Friday, July 25.
