Quranic Courses for Students Planned in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) - A series of Quranic courses has been planned for university students in Basra and Maysan Provinces of Iraq.


The Astans (custodianship) of the shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in the holy city of Karbala will organize the courses with the aim of developing the Quranic skills of the students, the Husseini Astan announced.

Montazar Al-Mansouri, head of the International Quranic Dissemination Section affiliated to the Dar-ol-Quran Center of Husseini holy shrine, said that the Quranic project also aims to promote religious knowledge of the students and get them more acquainted with Quranic culture.

He added that the husseini Astan also plans to hold preliminary courses on Quran recitation, Tafseer and Quranic sciences for top students and train them as the future Quran teachers.

Aiming to investigate various aspects of the project, a group of experts, including Al-Mansouri, head of the section and Ahmad Musa, and Muhammad Fadhil, members of the Quranic project, have visited the universities in the two provinces.

Al-Mansouri concluded by saying that the Husseini Astan holds a special ceremony every year to honor the students from different universities of the country participating at the Quranic courses.
