According to Wafa news agency, Sheikh Youssef Ed’iss said those willing to take part in the contest can sign up starting from Sunday, January 20.
Registration will continue until Tuesday, February 5, he said.
Ed’iss added that contenders will compete in three categories on memorization and Tajweed recitation of the Quran.
The 19th edition of Palestine’s national Quran contest will be held in July, the Awqaf minister noted.
He went on to say that it is aimed at promotion of the Quran and raising a generation acquainted with the Holy Book’s teachings.
