Pakistan: Muslim Students Celebrate Christmas with Christian Children in Mosque

IQNA – A mosque in Abbottabad hosted a Christmas ceremony for Christian children, where Muslim students of a madrassa presented them with school bags and gifts.

 

The ceremony was organized by the students of Madani Jamia Masjid and Madrasah Tartil-ul-Qur’an, with the support of the Rahmat Lal Alamin Authority, a religious organization, The News International reported on Wednesday.

Muslim scholars and students welcomed the Christian children and their fathers with flowers and greetings.

The chairman of the Rahmat Lal Alamin Authority, Khurshid Ahmed Nadeem, said that Muslims and Christians have many commonalities.

The ceremony was also attended by the imam of the mosque and a prominent religious scholar, Maulana Syed Akbar Ali Shah, as well as Christian leaders, such as Zakir Paul Advocate, Pastor Peter Gill, Pastor Paul Masih, Pastor Cristofer, Pastor Aslam Masih, and Pastor Nasir William. The organizer of the ceremony, Sabookh Syed, and other speakers also addressed the gathering.

The speakers praised the contributions and sacrifices of people of other religions, including Christians, to the establishment and stability of Pakistan, and called for their inclusion in the curriculum.

The Christian leaders expressed their gratitude and happiness for being invited to the ceremony, which they said was the first of its kind in Pakistan.

The ceremony featured recitations from the Holy Quran and the Bible, and a celebration of the birth of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).

The children also delivered speeches to promote Muslim-Christian harmony. At the end, the Muslim children served food to the Christian children and gave them school bags and gifts.
