Third Forum on the Universities of the Islamic World to Be Held in Pakistan

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The Third Vice Chancellors’ Forum on Universities of the Islamic World themed “Facing Global Challenges” is going to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan, from 23 to 24 February 2015.

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) as well as the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) in coordination with the Pakistan Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoENT) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) are going to hold this educational forum.
The Forum is expected to be attended by over 300 Vice Chancellors, Rectors, Presidents of the universities, higher education institutions of the Islamic World, and would provide a platform to the university leaders for fostering collaboration and strengthening cooperation among the institutions they represent.
The objectives set forth the forum are to help establish linkages and promote networking among the participating institutions; to pool resources for offering scholarships in Higher Education; to promote exchange of students and faculty among the participating institutions and to establish virtual centers of excellence.
The different panels of the forum will discuss the following issues: Fostering Links with Community; Sustainable Higher Education Systems; Sharing of Knowledge and Fostering Collaboration; Higher Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; International Landscape: Role of University Leadership; Higher Education: New Visions for Future; Role of Higher Education in Economic Revitalization; Mapping International Research Collaboration – Future Trends; Equality of Access and Role of Women in Higher Education and in Society; and Partnering with Industry.
