580 Boys, Girls Honored in Gaza for Quran Memorization Accomplishment
It was held in Gaza City on Thursday under the title of “Memorization Elites”, Anadolu Agency reported.
At the ceremony, 580 boys and girls from different parts of the coastal enclave and other parts of Palestine were recognized for the accomplishments in memorizing the Holy Book.
The memorizers did a Khatm Quran (recited the entire Holy Book from memory) at the event.
Abdul Rahman al-Jamal, head of the society’s board of directors, hailed the presence of the large number of memorizers and said the blessing of the Holy Book is in the heart of millions in the Islamic Ummah, giving them dignity and elevated status.
Last week, a similar program was held by the society in Gaza City.
The Dar-ol-Quran and Sunnah society is a non-governmental charity institution founded in 1991.
Supported by donors, its aim is promoting Quran memorization and teaching Quran recitation and Hadith.
Quranic activities are very common in the Gaza Strip and Quran recitation and memorization programs are held in the coastal enclave all over the year.
