The educational department of the Da-ol-Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine has organized the course for qaris from Najaf Governorate.

It features lessons on Sawt (beautiful voice) and Lahn (rhythm) in recitation and is held three days a week.

According to Sayed Mustafa al-Husseini, and official with the center, the course aims to enhance the Quranic skills of the qaris in line with the guidelines of Infallible Imams (AS) about the need for correct recitation of the Holy Book.

He said the Ideological and Cultural Complex located at the Fatima al-Zahra Courtyard of the holy shrine hosts the course.

The Ideological and Cultural Complex also hosts Khatm Quran (reading the Quran from the beginning to the end) sessions for pilgrims daily after Maghrib and Isha prayers.

The sessions are attended by the top qaris of the Astan who recite a page from the Quran every day.

The Da-ol-Quran Center organized various Quranic programs throughout the year. They include educational programs on Sawt and Lahn, Waqf and Ibtida (pause and restart), and the rules of recitation of the Quran.
