Istihlal Committee Tries to Spot Ramadan Crescent: Photo Gallery
IQNA – The Istihlal (moonsighting) committee, composed of clerics and experts, attempted to spot the crescent moon of Ramadan in Qom on Sunday evening, March 10, 2024.
The committee is affiliated with the office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and deploys different teams to see the Ramadan crescent moon every year.
The team in Qom and other teams throughout the country failed to see the crescent, which means that the holy month will begin on Tuesday in Iran.
Istihlal is the practice of looking for the new moon that marks the start of a new month on the lunar Hijri calendar.
