Dhaka, Capital of the Islamic Culture for the Asian Region

At an official invitation of the government of Bangladesh, the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, will take part in the official launch ceremony of the celebration of Dhaka, as the 2012 Islamic Culture Capital for the Asian Region, which will be held on 14 July 2012, in Dhaka, capital of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

The Director General will also give an address at the official ceremony, which will be chaired by Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and will be attended by a host of ministers, senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Dhaka, as well as by intellectual figures.
During his visit to Dhaka, the Director General will hold meetings with the Prime Minister, the Culture Minister, the Education Minister and the Religious Affairs Minister of Bangladesh to explore ways to boost cooperation between ISESCO and the government of Bangladesh in the fields of education, science, culture and communication.
