Gambian Memorizer Hails Equality of Iran's Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Gambian Quran memorizer hailed the equality that he witnessed in the 39th edition of Iran's International Holy Quran Competitions.

 

Speaking to IQNA on the sidelines of the event, Sheikh Tijan Salih assessed the contest as "extremely good and enthusiastic."

There is no inequality in the competitions, he stressed.

The final round of the 39th edition of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competitions kicked off on February 18, 2023, in Tehran and concluded on four days later.

The event was organized by Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of 52 male and female contestants from 33 countries.

The competition’s categories include memorization, recitation and tarteel for men and memorization and tarteel for women.

The panels of arbiters were comprised of experts from Iran, Lebanon, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.

The motto of this edition, like the previous one, is “One Book, One Ummah”, a testimony to the significance that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches to unity and fraternity among Muslim nations.
