The closing ceremony was held at Tehran Summit Hall with the participation of contestants as well as Iranian officials, including President Ebrahim Raeisi.
Fahimeh Asqarzadeh from Iran won the top prize of Tarteel recitation for women as Leila Afareh from Lebanon and Ameneh Shirzad from Afghanistan stood next.
In women’s memorization of the entire Quran, the top prize went to Amineh Ibrahim from Ghana. Hajar Mehralian from Iran and Algeria’s Nasrin Khaledi grabbed the next ranks.
Top first ranks of all three categories of men were obtained by Iranian representatives.
In Tarteel recitation, Mohammad Javad Javari won the top award as Kyrgyzstan’s Mohammad Yar and Lebanon’s Ismail Hamdan stood next.
Amirhossein Rahmati won the top prize in Tahqiq recitation category. Seyyed Amir Hashemi from Afghanistan and Abdullah Fikri from Indonesia won the second and third places respectively.
Finally, the top prize in the memorization category went to Sina Tabbakhi from Iran. Abdulalim Abdulrahim from Kenya and Sheikh Mahmud Hassan from Bangladesh stood next.
The final round of the 39th edition of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competitions kicked off on February 18, 2023, in Tehran
The event has been organized by Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of 52 male and female contestants from 33 countries.
The panels of arbiters were comprised of experts from Iran, Lebanon, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.
The motto of this edition, like the previous one, is “One Book, One Ummah”, a testimony to the significance that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches to unity and fraternity among Muslim nations.
