Ramadan 2023: Tehran Int’l Quran Expo Officially Inaugurated

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 30th edition of Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition officially opened on Saturday afternoon at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili stressed the government’s focus on strengthening Quranic activities across the country.

He said that some 3,000 Quran institutes have received licenses so far, noting that “giant strides” has been taken in this year’s budget to boost the country’s cultural infrastructure, especially the field of Quran.

According to Esmaeili the area of this year’s Quran exhibition has been doubled compared to the year before.

Prior to the opening ceremony, the 28^th ceremony for honoring servants of the Holy Quran was also held at the same venue with President Ebrahim Raeisi in attendance.

Raeisi also paid a visit to the exhibition. 

Running through April 15, the Quran exhibition hosts visitors from 5 PM to 1 AM.

 “I Read You” is the motto of this year’s exhibition, which highlights the importance of continually reading the Holy Quran.

The Tehran International Quran Exhibition is annually organized by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan, with the aim of promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.                                                                         

The kids' section and the “garden of verses” are among the main part of this year’s fair and have been expanded threefold compared to previous editions. Various programs have also been planned for the women and girls section.

22 countries have expressed readiness to participate in the international section. Furthermore, culture and Awqaf ministers from seven countries are set to visit the event.

"Shining homes" is another section of the fair that seeks to revive traditional circles for the Holy Quran recitation and encourage people to learn to leave with the Holy Quran.

According to estimates, up to 5,000 simple Iftar packages will be distributed among visitors. The number is expected to hit 15,000 on Qadr nights.
