TEHRAN (IQNA) – Those seeking the truth find the parables in the Quran as beneficial as they help to guide to the truth.

A mosquito

The Holy Quran says in Verse 26 of Surah Al-Baqarah:

“God does not hesitate to set forth parables of anything even a gnat. The believers know that it is the truth from their Lord, but those who deny the truth say, "What does God mean by such parables?" In fact, by such parables God misleads and guides many. However, He only misleads the evil doers.”

God does not hesitate to mention parables in order to point to the truth as the truth is beautiful and there is no worry, anxiety or shame from it.

That is why artists, in the peak of their art, seek to show the nature’s boldness and lack of worries in their work of art.

The word of the Quran is presented with utmost power and firmness and even if a parable about a mosquito is introduced, which may seem to be weak and insignificant, it does not harm the eloquence and firmness of the word. This is because God is aware of the secrets and truths of creation and for Him, there is no different between a mosquito and an elephant as the magnificence of the role of the mosquito in the world of creation is known to Him.

Another point in this verse is that the people of Ma’rifah (those who have attained deep knowledge) comprehend the truth of parables and benefit from them whereas some people, namely those who prefer their worldly desires over the truth, may go astray with these parables and examples.

These parables expose evil-doers who have no faith and always seek excuses to undermine the world of God.
