TEHRAN (IQNA) – God Almighty urges the faithful to “hold fast to the Bond of Allah” and avoid straying down the various misguided routes influenced by worldly desires and inner and outer temptations.

The translation of verses 102 and 103 of Surah Al-Imran reads:

Believers, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims. (102) And hold fast to the Bond of Allah, together, and do not scatter. Remember the Favor of Allah bestowed upon you when you were enemies, and how He united your hearts, so that by His Favor you became brothers. And how He saved you from the Pit of Fire when you were on the brink of it. And so Allah makes plain to you His verses, in order that you will be guided. (103)

In this verse, God addresses His faithful and provides valuable guidance:

First and foremost, revere God according to His boundless grandeur and His glorious and majestic attributes. Do not falter in fulfilling His will.

The second piece of advice is to promptly seek His contentment, and submit to Him. This is the essence of being a true Muslim, for time does not wait, and this golden opportunity to submit is not permanent.

Furthermore, the verse urges the faithful to hold fast to the unwavering path of God, the path of His love, to unite in understanding, tranquility, friendship, and consensus. Avoid the divergent paths dictated by worldly temptations and internal and external malevolence. For only under the shade of truth can unity be found, while the false paths of unrighteousness branch into countless directions, preventing people from attaining unity, consensus, peace, and friendship.

Just as thieves, marauders, and assailants can never truly be friends unless their interests intersect.

Lastly, it addresses people to make them remember the abundant blessings of God, noting that before embracing faith, their hearts were divided, and they regarded each other as adversaries. Through the blessing of faith and the discovery of common ground, their hearts warmed towards one another. Instead of adversaries, they became brothers and sisters. They stood on the brink of a perilous precipice, teetering on the edge of war and enmity, but God's blessing saved them from this abyss of destruction.
